About Operation Rising Lion
We started as a group of young men simply desiring fellowship and a higher standard of accountability: living how Jesus commands. Now, we're a band of brothers dedicated specifically to the discipleship of young men - maturing from baby believers to fully-trained weapons for the kingdom of heaven.
Not claiming Jesus for an Instagram aesthetic, not posting Scripture for attention but practically learning how to live out the faith that so many people claim, yet few follow.
Our leadership instituted 3 core principles that we as a group and as Christians conduct ourselves by in everything we do:
Radical Purity: The commitment to living in obedience to the commandments the Lord Jesus Christ has given us out of love. (John 14:15)
Courageous Faith: The unwillingness to back down from the proclamation and teaching of the Gospel we've been given. (2 Timothy 1:7)
Disciple-making Purpose: The focus of our ministry to make disciples that make disciples, effectively fulfilling the Great Commission given us by Jesus. (Matthew 28:19)
What do we do?
We meet once a week for worship, Q&A, and fellowship.
At these meetings, we invite men to ask the questions that are on their heart and then facilitate a discussion centered on God's word seeking to answer it.
There are a few guidelines we follow to cultivate a healthy discussion:
Stay on topic - if anyone starts to follow a rabbit trail that doesn't answer the question at hand, they will be interrupted and told to keep their answer on the immediate topic.
Ask any question - No question is out of bounds, everything from how do you deal with homosexual desires to how did Cain get his wife are topics that have been covered. Everything is answered Scripturally.
Think before you speak - A 10 second waiting period is required before an answer is given. We’re not seeking just to answer the question, we want a focused and well-thought out answer, prayerfully considering if the Lord is asking us to speak (James 1:19).
Discipleship
What is a Disciple?
A disciple is someone who follows Jesus, is changed by Jesus, and who participates in the work of Jesus (Mathew 4:19).
It is every believer's responsiblity to be a disciple and make disciples.
Those who are ready to take the next step of discipleship may join a band of brothers as they walk through 11 weeks of the Navigators 2:7 discipleship series.
This is a discussion based course that is focused on instilling in a new believer the discipline required to walk with Jesus and a clear understanding of their identity in Christ.
